As the NFL Draft quickly approaches, the Buffalo Bills are now going back and doing their due diligence as they meet with players for a second time. Earlier it was reported they were meeting with Florida State cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. and now Justin Melo of The Draft Network is reporting that they have met with San Diego State cornerback Darren Hall for a second time.
Darren Hall is considered a Day 3 target but could be great value as he is an experienced cornerback. He played 30 games over the past three seasons with San Diego State and had 131 total tackles, six interceptions and 25 passes defended during that stretch. This past season Hall really showed off his ability to track the ball and had three interceptions in only eight games.
The cornerback position is one that is almost certainly going to be addressed during the 2021 NFL Draft. The team did bring back Levi Wallace and he should compete with Dane Jackson for the starting job opposite Tre’Davious White. They also recently had T.J. Carrie in Buffalo for a free agent visit but they likely will want more depth.
A player like Darren Hall could fit this perfectly for what the Buffalo Bills need. He is a player they could select in the later rounds and step into this defense fairly easily. In his scouting report on Pro Football Network, Hall is described as a player who played his best as an outside corner in a zone defense.
The Buffalo Bills don’t have many glaring needs which makes it tough to predict what direction they may go early in the 2021 NFL Draft. If the team doesn’t select a cornerback in the first two rounds, Darren Hall would make sense as a target and someone who could provide great value for the team.
