This 137th overall pick is the 4th round draft pick that I acquired in the 1st round trade back with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In my opinion, getting a 4th round pick in this draft will be huge for the Buffalo Bills. This is a decently deep draft class and there are prospects to be found on day three that are capable of making 53 man rosters.

With this pick, I decided to select safety James Wiggins from Cincinnati. The Buffalo Bills have actually expressed interest in Wiggins by meeting with him for a virtual interview. This interview with Wiggins and others during this pre-draft process suggests that the Bills are interested in adding a third safety.

Considering how poor the Buffalo Bills were defending against tight ends last year, it seems as if this is an area that the team would like to improve in 2021. Additionally, the New England Patriots signed two tight ends in free agency, Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith, most likely in an attempt to exploit that weakness in the Buffalo Bills defense.

By drafting Wiggins, the Buffalo Bills get their third safety that can cover tight ends and running backs, while still being able to defend against the run. Getting a defensive chess piece like Wiggins could open up a lot of possibilities for Leslie Frazier and the Bills defense in terms of personnel packages and the ability to be versatile.
