After the second wave of free agency, the Buffalo Bills are in a very comfortable spot entering the 2021 NFL Draft. Brandon Beane and company have done a great job retaining as much of the roster as they could from 2020, and those that they did lose they cheaply replaced in free agency.

In my 23 years of life, I don’t have a memory of an NFL Draft where the Bills needs weren’t obvious. As of right now, the “needs” on this roster are at cornerback, edge rusher, interior defensive line, tight end, running back, and interior offensive line. There are some other niche needs on the roster, but it’s crazy to think that anyone the Buffalo Bills draft in the 1st round of this 2021 NFL Draft is no guarantee to make the starting lineup.

Even in recent years, the Buffalo Bills have needed their 1st round draft picks to contribute heavily during their rookie year. For example, Josh Allen wasn’t expected to start his rookie year, but after a terrible first half from Nathan Peterman, Allen was forced to learn on the job. Additionally, the Buffalo Bills expected big rookie year contributions from recent draft picks like Dion Dawkins, Tremaine Edmunds, and Tre’Davious White. This isn’t to say that whoever the Bills decide to select in the 1st round of this year’s draft won’t contribute as these guys did, but he simply won’t have to with the way the roster is currently constructed.

Below I will be running through yet another seven round mock draft for the Buffalo Bills. As always I will be utilizing Pro Football Focus’s mock draft simulator.
