Buffalo Bills Defensive Line

Defensive Ends: Jerry Hughes, Mario Addison, A.J. Epenesa, Darryl Johnson, Mike Love, Bryan Cox Jr.

Defensive Tackles: Ed Oliver, Vernon Butler, Star Lotulelei, Justin Zimmer, Harrison Phillips, Brandin Bryant

The defensive line has seen more subtraction than addition this offseason. Entering this offseason, the Bills had only one player set to be a free agent and that is Trent Murphy. He was a free agent signing in 2018 and was primarily the starter the first two years but this past season lost most of his playing time and in the second half of the year was a healthy scratch.

In addition to Murphy, the Bills also released defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson to free up some cap space while Vernon Butler and Mario Addison reportedly took pay cuts to stay with the team.

One key addition though is defensive tackle Star Lotulelei, who missed last year due to the pandemic. There were some questions about whether or not he would return but he appears set to play in 2021 and should return to the starting lineup next to Ed Oliver.
