Buffalo Bills: 5 defensive ends to target in free agency
Jadeveon Clowney
While the focus is improving on the pass rush, the Buffalo Bills also struggled against the run this past season. The return of Star Lotulelei could certainly help here but having a player like Jadeveon Clowney on the edge would be an improvement as well.
Clowney the past two seasons has spent one year each with the Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans after starting his career with the Houston Texans. This past season though Clowney didn’t have much of an impact as he played in only eight games, had 19 total tackles and six QB hits. He would suffer a knee injury midseason that would force him to miss the remainder of the season. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that he should be fully recovered from that injury by April.
The concern has always been his sack totals and he has only had three the past two seasons. However, his pass rush win rate was near the best in the league prior to last season.
This is one move that could be worth the gamble depending on the contract and could end up being a steal if Clowney is fully recovered from his knee injury.
