Defensive End

Best Way: Free Agency

The Buffalo Bills tried to improve this position last offseason with the free agent addition of Mario Addison along with using a second round pick on A.J. Epenesa. The position struggled to get consistent pressure on the quarterback and Mario Addison looks to be a likely cap casulty this offseason.

While the Bills could look to add another defensive end in the NFL Draft, they need to get a proven pass rusher immediately and don’t have the luxury of waiting for one to develop. While it will certainly result in a big deal, and take up a majority of any cap space that becomes available, this is a position that would probably have the most impact this coming season.

When considering their focus is on the Kansas City Chiefs, they don’t need to look much further than what the Tampa Bay Bucs were able to do in the Super Bowl. The way they were able to get constant pressure with just their defensive front and limited blitzes, confused and frustrated Patrick Mahomes.

A veteran pass rusher like Carl Lawson or Yannick Ngakoue to pair with Jerry Hughes that allows A.J. Epenesa to rotate in, could be that missing piece for this defense to slow down the Chiefs next season.
