Buffalo Bills: 4 free agent linebackers to replace Matt Milano
Jayon Brown
If the Buffalo Bills want a guaranteed starter, a player who can fill the role of Matt Milano than former Tennessee Titans linebacker Jayon Brown is the player. The two players are eerily similar in terms of their playing style and their career. Both were selected in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft with Brown going only seven picks before Milano.
He then had his breakout season in 2019, similar to Milano, and finished with 105 total tackles, one sack, one interception and eight passes defended. However, this past season Brown saw his season cut short due to injury and played only seven games.
Brown, similar to Milano, is one of the better coverage linebackers in the league. When considering all the similarities, it would make sense for the Buffalo Bills to be interested in Brown. However, he won’t come cheap and according to Spotrac is expected to have a market value of just over $11 million per year.
If the Bills were able to afford such a big contract for Brown, it would make more sense to try and get the deal done with Milano, who they know well and how he fits in this defense.
