The Buffalo Bills front office has probably already begun preparing for what the roster might look like without starting linebacker Matt Milano. The former fifth round pick is set to be a free agent and all indications are that he will test the market and probably have a new team for 2021.

The good news for the Bills is that they are going to have a number of linebackers to choose from in the NFL Draft. There are plenty of athletic linebackers that could provide a similar skillset to Milano and eventually be the starter.

However, if the front office doesn’t want to wait for a rookie or feel they need a veteran to replace Milano in this defense, there are a few options in free agency as well. These are the top four that could replace Matt Milano at linebacker.

Christian Kirksey

Christian Kirksey is a former starting linebacker who started with the Cleveland Browns but played with the Green Bay Packers last year. He was released this offseason after an injury-shortened season and is once again looking for a new team.

This is a player that makes sense and one that the Buffalo Bills have already shown interest in. Last offseason, the Bills had Kirksey in for a visit and were interested in adding him. He did ultimately end up selecting the Packers but the interest may still be there from the Bills.

Last year, Kirksey played in 11 games and had 77 total tackles, two sacks, two interceptions, and four passes defended. At this point of his career, Kirksey may not be viewed as a locked-in starter and if the Bills were to add him it would likely be a rotation of Kirksey, A.J. Klein, and Tyrel Dodson.
