James White

What he brings: A receiving threat out of the backfield

While Devin Singletary and Zack Moss showed they could be a threat out of the backfield, this isn’t necessarily their strength. That is why a running back like James White could be a good addition this offseason.

White has spent the past seven years with the New England Patriots, and while he has never been a featured back, he was a key part of their offense. He is an excellent pass catcher out of the backfield and has averaged 52 receptions per year.

The addition of White would bring a player who will be another weapon for Brian Daboll but not necessarily take away too much of the ground work from Singletary or Moss. He also would bring Super Bowl experience, winning three Super Bowls with the Patriots, which is a focus for this team this coming season.
