Buffalo Bills: 4 players they could cut to create cap space for J.J. Watt
Other Candidates
While these two players alone get the Buffalo Bills very close to $15.5 million, they have other candidates they could cut to push them over that mark or potentially replace either Vernon Butler or Mario Addison.
A player like John Brown could be a player that could be cut with substantial cap savings with a total of $7.9 million and only $1.6 million in dead cap. If he were to replace Vernon Butler in this situation, that would certainly get the Bills over $15.5 million.
Another player that could be cut is Tyler Matakvich, which would result in $3.35 million in cap savings and only $350,000 in dead cap. While he has shown to be a valuable part of their special teams unit, this is a move that could be enough to open up the cap space to sign J.J. Watt.
While it remains to be seen if the Buffalo Bills sign, or are even interested in signing J.J. Watt, they will certainly have options to create the necessary cap space to get a deal done.
