Leonard Fournette
The run game for the Buffalo Bills was a concern for most of the year but it didn’t matter too much with the way Josh Allen was playing and throwing the ball this past season. However, this is not necessarily a recipe for success and the front office should try to find a way to create some balance, or at least create the threat, with the run game moving forward.
The Bills have invested pretty significantly over the past two years at the position by using third round picks in each of the past two NFL Drafts with the selections of Devin Singletary and Zack Moss. It remains to be seen if they are ready to give up on this duo but that doesn’t mean they can’t add another running back, preferably a veteran.
A player like Leonard Fournette could make sense for this backfield as he is a veteran and potentially could join at a reasonable salary. Fournette was cut by the Jaguars prior to the 2020 season and joined the Bucs. He finished the regular season with only 97 carries for 367 yards but had six rushing touchdowns.
In the three playoff games, Fournette has 48 carries for 267 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
He is not only a big, powerful running back but also is a receiving threat with over 100 receptions over the past two years. The Buffalo Bills could use a veteran third running back to add into the mix with Singletary and Moss and Leonard Fournette could be the answer.
