Dane Jackson

The player who likely has the best chance is cornerback Dane Jackson, who was the seventh-round pick by the Buffalo Bills last year. The rookie had spent most of the season on the practice squad but was called up a few times and when he did, he played well.

He had three games this year where he played 75% or more of the defensive snaps and finished with 14 total tackles, one tackle for a loss, five passes defended, one interception, and one forced fumble in those games.

The biggest question will be how the Bills address the cornerback position this offseason with Levi Wallace being a restricted free agent and Josh Norman an unrestricted free agent. In addition to those two, the Bills also have E.J. Gaines returning after opting out prior to this season due to the pandemic.

If the Bills were not to add anyone this offseason and bring back Levi Wallace, which is likely, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Dane Jackson competing for the starting job with how he played in his limited action this season.
