Buffalo Bills: Reviewing key coaching decisions in AFC Championship
Bills settle for a field goal at the end of the first half
After the opening drive and a fumbled punt by Mecole Hardman, that set the Bills up to take a 9-0 lead, it was almost all Kansas City Chiefs from that point forward. They would go on to score three straight touchdowns to take a 21-9 lead.
The Bills did seem to find a rhythm at the end of the first half and put together a 12-play drive and after two plays from the four-yard line, faced a 4th and 2. Instead of the Bills going for it, they settled for a Tyler Bass field goal and they cut the Chiefs lead down to 21-12 heading into halftime.
The call was certainly disappointing because even with a field goal, the Chiefs held a two-score lead going into halftime. At the same time, the Kansas City Chiefs had all the momentum and any points were seemingly needed at that point.
