Buffalo Bills: 4 X-Factors for the Bills against the Baltimore Ravens
Tyler Bass
When a game is this close, the final score usually comes down to a field goal. This is a big moment for Tyler Bass in the early part of his career. The rookie placekicker started the year off a little shaky but since Week 8 he has missed only one field goal attempt and one extra point attempt.
This past week against the Colts, he made two field goals including a 54-yard in the fourth quarter. That kick put the Bills up 11 and essentially secured their first playoff win in 25 years.
The Baltimore Ravens finished the year allowing the second-fewest points in the NFL and have shown they know how to keep teams off the scoreboard. However, the Bills have a slight advantage here as Bass has an excellent leg and extends the scoring range. That field goal attempt against the Colts is a perfect example of the coaching staff’s willingness to go for in a key moment of the game and trust the rookie.
In a game between two evenly matched teams, the outcome could be decided on the foot of Tyler Bass.
