Mark Andrews

The Buffalo Bills defense has struggled all year against tight ends and this past week against the Colts was no different. The trio of Jack Doyle, Trey Burton and Mo Alie-Cox combined for 14 receptions for 136 receiving yards and one touchdown.

This week it doesn’t get any easier as the defense is now asked to slow down one of the best tight ends in the NFL in Mark Andrews. The Ravens passing game relies heavily on Andrews and he is consistently Lamar Jackson’s favorite target.

He is currently in the midst of a seven game streak, including last week against the Titans, where he has at least five receptions. In five of those games, he had 65 or more receiving yards.

This week the coaching staff will need to have a better plan for slowing the position down. The Bills do have Matt Milano, who is one of the better coverage linebackers in the NFL, but this could also be a week where Micah Hyde is asked to drop down and play more coverage on the tight end position knowing that Mark Andrews is the primary receiver in this offense.
