Very special-special teams

While often overlooked special teams are a crucial area that needs to succeed in order to thrive. Sunday, Buffalo’s specialists proved they have something special on fourth down, on both sides of the ball.

Even though we have not seen him too much this season due to Buffalo’s ability to seemingly score at will, punter Corey Bojorquez has had his impact on the season.

All season long, ‘Bojo’ has played an insurmountable role in Buffalo’s ability to either pin teams deep or neutralize a team’s return man. Sunday was just another prime example of Bojorquez’s ability to create a momentum shift as he pinned Miami inside their own one-yard line. His efforts all season, aside from his one muffed punt in Arizona, have been important in setting defensive tones.

On the other side of the ball, Isaiah McKenzie got bored of catching touchdowns and decided to run a punt back for a touchdown. While Bills fans are used to watching Pro Bowler Andre Roberts field punts and kicks, seeing Mckenzie inflate the lead, even more, they are feeling extremely confident about all areas of Buffalo’s game.

If those two areas were not enough to smile about, Tyler Bass’ extra points gave him 141 on the season. This will go down as a new franchise record.
