This is a recap of the snap counts for the Buffalo Bills in Week 16.

The Buffalo Bills built an early lead and the New England Patriots were never able to close the gap. Early in the fourth quarter, after Stefon Diggs’ third touchdown of the game, the Bills had a 38-9 lead and the coaching staff was able to start to rotate in some backups to give starters a rest.

This is why this past week starters saw their snaps decrease but this was due to game script rather than a player losing snap counts for poor play. This is a recap of the snap counts for the Buffalo Bills in Week 16.

Buffalo Bills Offense

The Buffalo Bills had only three players play every offensive snap which included starting left guard Ike Boettger, center Mitch Morse and wide receiver Gabriel Davis. Meanwhile, Jon Feliciano played all but one snap against the Patriots.

The coaching staff did give their starting tackles, Dion Dawkins and Daryl Williams a little break and rotated in Ty Nsekhe and Ryan Bates into the game at the position.

The running back position saw almost an even split as Zack Moss played 50% of the snaps and Devin Singletary played 49%. The team also got Taiwan Jones on the field earlier in the game for one snap at running back and on that one snap, Josh Allen threw a pass to Jones in the end zone, which he dropped.

Buffalo Bills Defense

On the defensive side of the ball, the Bills had no players play more than 88% of defensive snaps. This created more playing time for players like A.J. Epenesa (54% of defensive snaps), Josh Norman (44%), Daryl Johnson (40%), Harrison Phillips (40%), and Justin Zimmer (36%).

When looking at the defensive snaps, one player that stands out the most was Matt Milano. The coaching staff has been cautious with his playing time since he returned from injured reserve but this week for the first time he was a full-time starter and was one of four players that played 88% of the snaps.
