Josh Allen runs it in for the second touchdown

While Josh Allen has developed as a passer from the pocket, it is always good to remind the NFL that he is still a threat on the ground with his legs. He showed that in the second quarter as he ran in for a touchdown from 24 yards out.

One of the things that were most notable on this run was that Allen got some help from Reggie Gilliam downfield who threw two excellent blocks that helped the franchise quarterback found the end zone.

These little things go a long way for a player to get more playing time down the stretch.

Josh Allen shows off the arm

Later in the quarter, Josh Allen showed off the arm by connecting with Jake Kumerow for a touchdown that put the Bills up 21-7 with less than two minutes left in the first half.

This was an excellent throw that showed off not only the arm strength but also the accuracy as he was able to split the safeties to find Kumerow for the touchdown.

Jerry Hughes trying out for running back?

After almost two years of no defensive touchdowns, the Bills now have a defensive score in back to back weeks. This week it was a fumble forced by Tre’Davious White, that was picked up by defensive end Jerry Hughes.

However, he didn’t look like a defensive end as he cut and moved more like a running back through the Broncos getting to the end zone.

This play by Jerry Hughes essentially sealed it for the Buffalo Bills as they got up 35-13 and the Broncos didn’t threaten much for the rest of the game.

It didn’t count but it looked good

While the play didn’t count as Ike Boettger was called for a hold, it was still a great looking play. The Bills ran a Statue of Liberty play where Allen faked the throw to the right but held the ball in his left hand which was picked up by Devin Singletary for the score.

One of the things that hasn’t been discussed as much is how creative Brian Daboll gets in this part of the field. The days of just running it three times hoping to get across the goal line are gone as Daboll has had wide receivers throwing to Josh Allen, wide receivers throwing to wide receivers, and now Statue of Liberty plays.

While the Bills saw their touchdown called back, don’t expect Brian Daboll to not try the play again at some point this season.
