Buffalo Bills: Stefon Diggs breaks franchise record for receptions in a season
In his first season with the franchise, Stefon Diggs broke the Buffalo Bills record in receptions.
The Buffalo Bills made a splash this past offseason by trading with the Minnesota Vikings for wide receiver Stefon Diggs. The Bills had to send a number of draft picks, including a first round pick last year. This season though Diggs has proven to be worth everything the Bills sent to the Vikings and more.
He entered this week’s game tied for the franchise record in receptions with 100 exactly, a record held by Eric Moulds which he set in 2002. It didn’t take long into the game against the Broncos for him to surpass Moulds and be the lone record holder. He broke the record on the Bills’ first offensive play.
This season has been pretty incredible for Diggs as he has grown into that number one wide receiver role and been a tremendous help to Josh Allen, who also is having a record-setting season. Last week against the Steelers, he broke the franchise record for total touchdowns in a season, which was set by Jim Kelly.
One of the reasons that Diggs was able to break this record is his consistency. He has had only one game where he had six or fewer receptions, which came in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams. He has produced even more recently and entered this week against the Broncos with 10 or more receptions in three of the last four games.

With plenty of time left in this week’s game against the Denver Broncos as well as two games left in the regular season, one on the road against the New England Patriots and one at home against the Miami Dolphins, he has the potential to really separate himself in this category and set a high franchise record.
