Buffalo Bills: 3 reasons why Josh Allen should win MVP
Red Zone Success
Once the Bills are in the red zone, it’s likely they’re scoring a touchdown. Allen is at his best when in scoring position boasting 25 passing touchdowns of his 35 total touchdowns this year to zero interceptions, only second to Aaron Rodgers. Not even Mahomes has found as much success as Allen in the red zone, as he ranks fourth on this list behind Kyler Murray.
What’s valuable is being able to score touchdowns inside the 20, where the field is more compact and accuracy and ball placement are paramount. Allen’s performance in the red area this season is near the top of the league and he deserves the bulk of the credit for excelling in this aspect of the game.
Being the underdog doesn’t guarantee any particular outcome. And you have to at least be in the fight to win. Allen is behind some tough competition in this race, but he deserves appropriate recognition for his MVP-caliber play.
In the final three regular season games, if Allen can continue playing exceptional football, he’ll prove to voters why he should earn their tally to win 2020 NFL MVP.
