Buffalo Bills Snap Counts: Matt Milano on the field more in Week 14

This is a recap of the Buffalo Bills snap counts for Week 14 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Buffalo Bills moved to 10-3 on the season after an impressive 26-15 performance over the Pittsburgh Steelers. This week the team made some changes to their rotation, sometimes due to injury, and while others appeared to be a coach’s decision.

This is a recap of the snap counts on both sides of the ball for Week 14 for the Buffalo Bills.

Buffalo Bills Offense

For the second straight week, the Bills had the same starting five along the offensive line with Ike Boettger at left guard and Jon Feliciano at right guard. However, for the second straight week the team had to turn to Brian Winters to play due to injury.

This week, Mitch Morse suffered an injury that forced Feliciano to move over to center and Winters stepped back in at right guard, playing 14 snaps, or about 19% of the offensive snaps.

Another change was at running back as Zack Moss outsnapped Devin Singletary, playing about 59% of the offensive snaps to Singletary’s 40%. Last week, it seemed that Moss was benched due to a fumble early in the game however that looks to be a one-time situation as the rookie saw a majority of the work at the position.

Buffalo Bills Defense

The coaching staff appears to be cautious with bringing Matt Milano back and after playing 19 snaps (31%) last week against the 49ers his workload increased to 27 snaps (47%). He responded with a sack and two tackles against the Steelers. The plan is likely to work Milano back to a full workload by the time the playoffs come around.

The Buffalo Bills also appear committed to giving rookie A.J. Epenesa more playing time as he had his third straight game with 37% or more of the defensive snaps. Meanwhile, Jerry Hughes was on the field for 77% of the defensive snaps, which was a season-high, with Mario Addison closely behind at 65%.

One player who saw his snaps increase significantly was Siran Neal, who replaced Taron Johnson at nickel. Johnson had the play of the game with a pick six at the end of the first half but suffered a concussion later in the game and was forced to sit out. While the team had used Dean Marlowe at times at the position, it was Neal who got the nod and played 20 snaps or 35% of the defensive snaps.
