Find Ed Oliver

The Buffalo Bills defense as a whole hasn’t lived up to expectations this year and while the blame could evenly be distributed, one player who has really struggled this year has been defensive tackle Ed Oliver.

The former Top 10 pick entered this season with high expectations after a strong finish to his rookie season when he had had four sacks, 5 QB hits, and four tackles for a loss. The hope was that momentum would carry over into this season. However, in 10 games this year he has 21 tackles, one sack, four QB hits, and three tackles for a loss.

It is hard to pinpoint exactly why Ed Oliver hasn’t been able to produce this season but the coaching staff needs to figure out the best way to get the defensive tackle involved. He is such a unique and dynamic player that has the explosiveness to make plays in the backfield and put pressure on the quarterback, two things the defense needs to improve.
