Defensive Line
The defensive line for the most part won the battle in the trenches with the Seattle Seahawks offensive line. They did an excellent job of getting pressure on Russell Wilson with two of the five of the Bills sacks but also added five of the 11 team’s QB hits.
While getting pressure on Wilson is certainly a big piece of the puzzle but it is also important keeping him in the pocket. He doesn’t run often but certainly can make plays with his legs when the pocket begins to collapse. However, he only had five rushing yards in the game.
One play in particular that stands out about the job the defensive line did was on the fourth down play in the first half where Jordan Poyer came away with the interception. Wilson rolled to his right giving the quarterback the option to throw or run for the first down. However, Jerry Hughes didn’t over-pursue, kept Wilson in front of him, and forced him to make a bad throw.
This was one of the better games for the defensive line this season.
