I had a chance to talk with a Seahawks writer to get more insight into the Buffalo Bills’ opponent in Week 9.
The Buffalo Bills are preparing to face their biggest challenge this year as they are set to play Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9. This is going to be a tough game for the defense in slowing down the Seahawks offense but plenty of pressure on the offense to match the Seahawks on the scoreboard to keep it competitive.
I had a chance to talk with Lee Vowell, who is the Seattle Seahawks’ site expert for 12thmanrising.com, to get his thoughts about this upcoming matchup for the Buffalo Bills.
Question1: The Seahawks offense has looked almost unstoppable this season. What has been the difference in this offense?
I think there are several reasons the offense has been really good so far this year. One is that offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer is letting Russell Wilson be a bit more aggressive. This doesn’t just mean long throws downfield as Seattle has always had that as an important part of its offense. But more letting Wilson have input on what plays are being run and letting Wilson improvise a bit more.
A second reason the offense has been good is that Wilson has a lot of talent around him. Tyler Lockett has been good for a number of years now but he is now helped by second-year receiver D.K. Metcalf. Metcalf is growing into a top-10 receiver. Plus, when healthy, Seattle has a great group of running backs and tight ends. Lastly, the offensive line has been solid this year and one big reason is rookie right guard Damien Lewis who will be a perennial Pro Bowler soon.
