Free agent cornerback Daryl Worley is visiting the Buffalo Bills.
The depth at the cornerback position has been challenged this year for the Buffalo Bills. They have already had two starting corners placed on injured reserve as Josh Norman started the year there. In his first game back, Levi Wallace suffered an injury and has spent the past three weeks on injured reserve due to an ankle injury.
Due to all the injuries, the Buffalo Bills appear to be in the market for help at the position and according to Field Yates, the Bills are bringing in Daryl Worley for a visit.
As noted by Field Yates, Daryl Worley was cut earlier this week by the Dallas Cowboys. However, the Bills interest in Worley shouldn’t be that surprising because he is also a former Carolina Panthers player.
Worley started his career with the Panthers and was a third round pick by the team in 2016. He spent his rookie season playing under Sean McDermott and started 11 games for them. He finished with 88 total tackles and one interception his rookie season.
He spent one more year with the Panthers before being traded before the 2018 season to the Philadelphia Eagles. However, he was released a few months later due to off-the-field issues.
He spent three seasons with the Raiders after his time with the Eagles and signed as a free agent with the Dallas Cowboys prior to this year.
The addition of Daryl Worley would be a big boost for this secondary as they would get a player that knows this defense scheme well and has experience as a starter. The thought process could be very similar to what the team was thinking when they signed Josh Norman.
He is a cornerback who had his best seasons under Sean McDermott. The big difference is that Worley is only 25 years of age and still has plenty of his career left versus Norman who is towards the end.
