The Buffalo Bills had four players miss Wednesday’s practice, including starting safety Micah Hyde.

The Buffalo Bills were back on the practice field ahead of their Week 8 matchup with AFC East rival, the New England Patriots. They could be heading into this matchup without a key piece of their defense, which is Micah Hyde.

The team’s starting safety missed Wednesday’s practice due to a concussion and he is in the concussion protocol. He will need to know go through a number of steps before being cleared to return.

Another starter who missed practice on Wednesday was guard Cody Ford. The team’s left guard missed last week’s game against the Jets due to a knee injury suffered against the Kansas City Chiefs. He will likely need to get in a limited practice tomorrow if he hopes to return this week.

If Ford is not able to go, the Buffalo Bills may turn to Jon Feliciano who was taken off injured reserve earlier this week. If the Bills decide to keep Feliciano at right guard, where he played all last season, then Ike Boettger would likely get his second career start.

In addition, Josh Norman also missed practice due to a hamstring injury that forced him to miss last week’s game. Earlier on Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network tweeted he would be unlikely to go in Week 8.

If Norman is not able to play, the Bills could turn to Cam Lewis, who was limited due to a wrist injury on Wednesday or bring Dane Jackson back up from the practice squad. The seventh-round rookie got the start against the Jets and actually played pretty well.

One piece of positive news is that wide receiver John Brown was a full participant on Wednesday. He missed last week’s game due to a knee injury but appears set to return this week against the New England Patriots.
