Linebackers

The Buffalo Bills defense got a big boost this week with the return of Matt Milano and it certainly showed in this game, not only for Milano but also for Tremaine Edmunds. This was one of the best games for the middle linebacker this season, finishing with five total tackles including one tackle for a loss.

As for Milano, it appeared the coaching staff was trying to limit his snaps, although he finished with two sacks and a half of a sack, and ease him back by splitting time with A.J. Klein, who had six total tackles and a half of a sack of his own.

Secondary

The Buffalo Bills had plenty of questions entering this game about who would play with Tre’Davious White and Cam Lewis questionable and Josh Norman ruled out. The good news was that White and Lewis did play but the best cornerback may have been Dane Jackson.

The seventh round rookie got his first NFL action after being called up to the practice squad and made the most of his playing time. He was responsible for a pass break up early in the game on third down that ended a Jets drive in the red zone and they were forced to settle for a field goal.

However, he wasn’t done there and had his first career interception later in the game.

In addition to Jackson, Jordan Poyer once again had another impressive game as he was tied with the team lead in total tackles with six and added a sack and pass defended.

After a few down weeks, this was a really good performance by the Bills secondary.
