Josh Allen vs. Marcus Maye

While the first meeting was a career game for Josh Allen there were some negatives. In particular, there were two lost fumbles in the red zone by Allen that if those didn’t occur the final score would have looked vastly different.

One of those players that forced a fumble was safety Marcus Maye. The former second-round pick was asked at the start of the season to step into the role vacated by Jamal Adams when he was traded. However, since that game, the Jets have moved him to more of a free safety role and this is one of the big reasons why the Bills and Josh Allen have to pay extra close attention.

Maye is an excellent ball-hawking safety and now that he is roaming the back of this secondary it is important for the Buffalo Bills quarterback to know where he is at all times. If Allen loses him, Maye could find himself once again coming away with turnovers but likely as interceptions.

The coaching staff is likely going to try and make it a point to get Josh Allen back on track this week so that means a high volume of pass attempts. As long as he is able to protect the football, this should be a good game for Josh Allen.
