Cole Beasley vs. Tyrann Mathieu

While Stefon Diggs may get the headlines, Cole Beasley is one of the pivotal pieces of this passing game and a big reason for Josh Allen’s strong start to the season. It was evident in the game against the Titans as the Bills offense remained pretty stagnant in the first half and Beasley had no receptions.

However, in the second half they started looking Beasley’s way more and the offense started moving as he finished with six receptions for 53 yards. He has 24 receptions for 313 yards and one touchdown but is currently on pace for career highs in yards per reception (13), receptions per game (4.8), and yards per game (62.6).

This week though he will likely have the Honey Badger, Tyrann Mathieu lined up across from him. Mathieu is one of the better nickel corners in the NFL and this will be a key matchup to watch. If Beasley is able to get separation and give Allen that target, this offense should be able to stay on track.

However, if Mathieu is able to take Beasley out of the gameplan, the Buffalo Bills offense could become stagnant again as they did in the first half against the Titans.
