Tyrel Dodson

For the second time this season, Tyrel Dodson has been asked to start in place of an injured Buffalo Bills linebacker. In Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins he replaced Tremaine Edmunds at middle linebacker and on Tuesday night replaced Matt Milano at outside linebacker.

While the absence of Milano was certainly missed, Dodson once again did a good job stepping into the starting lineup. He would end up finishing the game with seven total tackles, which was only one tackle off the team lead in Week 5 against the Titans.

The reason that Dodson continues to trend up is he is showing the Buffalo Bills that he could be the long term answer at the position. This is a contract year for Matt Milano and if the franchise was not able to work out a new deal with Milano, they should feel confident in Dodson as the potential long-term answer at the position.
