More time to work on pass defense

One of the biggest disappointments for the Buffalo Bills to start the year has been their pass defense. The Bills have allowed three quarterbacks to already throw for over 300 yards in a game, something that only happened twice all of last season.

The coaching staff was forced to make a switch last week against the Las Vegas Raiders when Levi Wallace went down with an ankle injury. The team’s starter was placed on injured reserve this week and moving forward it appears that the job belongs to Josh Norman.

Considering how the secondary has played to this point, this was likely going to happen sooner rather than later. However, the coaching staff likely would have preferred to ease the veteran back into action. The fact that Norman suffered the hamstring injury midway through training camp and missed the first three weeks, there probably was some conditioning and just general rust that would have to be worked through.

However, now with a few extra days, the coaching staff can really focus on this secondary and refine it, making adjustments where necessary.
