Week 6: Kansas City Chiefs at Buffalo Bills

In one of, if not, the toughest game on the Bills schedule they host the defending Super Bowl champs on Thursday Night Football.

Why the Buffalo Bills win:

With the Chiefs coming off of a short week and traveling to Western New York, the Bills couldn’t have drawn a better time to play the defending champs. Mahomes and company showed they weren’t unbeatable when they almost lost to the Justin Herbert-led Chargers and they could have very well lost if not for some questionable decisions by Anthony Lynn.

The Chiefs also thrive on the offensive side of the ball by making big plays, especially with their top receiver, the fastest in the NFL Tyreek Hill. While Mahomes will always get his production the Bills offense is thriving as well and look to potentially be able to keep up with them.

The Chiefs defense isn’t anything special but does have some star players with Chris Jones and Tyrann Mathieu carrying the load. With L’Jarious Sneed a fourth-round pick from 2020 at the corner the Bills can attack him with their quality weapons on offense and they would be smart to attack him.

Charvarious Ward handles the other cornerback duties he’s solid but not somebody who teams will completely ignore so Stefon Diggs and John Brown should be able to produce. Josh Allen should be able to continue his success and give the Bills a chance to win the game.

Why the Chiefs win:

Patrick Mahomes. This is why the Cheifs win this game. If Mahomes is at his best he’s better than any quarterback in the game. Even with how good Allen has been playing so far this year he can’t be fully relied upon to go pass for pass with the former MVP.

The Bills defenses struggle with guarding the tight end position and it won’t get any easier with Travis Kelce coming into town. By now Edmunds and Milano should be back and could help limit Kelce’s impact but it still won’t be an easy task and one that the Bills have to key in on to defeat Kansas City.

With significant speed on the outside with Tyreek Hill, Mecole Hardman, and Sammy Watkins the Bills’ lack of speed at cornerback could cause some issues. Both Levi Wallace and Josh Norman don’t have quick feet and will need help over the top from Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer but it still won’t be an easy task.

Verdict: Bills Win
