Week 4: Buffalo Bills at Las Vegas Raiders
Another undefeated team, although they are a bit of a surprise so far this season, the Raiders are super talented and will give the Buffalo Bills a tough game.
Why the Bills win:
The Raiders’ defense has been solid through the first two weeks, especially on Monday night in their triumph over the New Orleans Saints. However, they have still given up 54 points in those games and allowed the Carolina Panthers to score 30 points on them.
The Bills should look to attack the Raiders secondary early and often, as they have young cornerbacks in Trayvon Mullen and Damon Arnette. Stefon Diggs and John Brown should find ways to get open using their savvy route running and Josh Allen has shown an ability to find them all over the field. An underwhelming defensive line along with an average linebacking core shouldn’t exactly strike fear in a Bills offensive which will look to keep thriving.
Derek Carr has had a great start to the season, throwing for 521 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions, as well as completing near 74% of his passes. With a sturdy offensive line an up and rising star running back in Josh Jacobs and one of the better tight ends in the NFL in Darren Waller, the Bills will have to be on their game. While the Raiders receivers aren’t too scary with Henry Ruggs III, Bryan Edwards, and Hunter Renfrow, they all have a ton of talent to break big plays, especially Ruggs. If Milano and Edmunds return, the Bills should return to the Top 3 defense they were last season and take this game away from the Raiders.
Why the Raiders win:
The Raiders blueprint to winning versus the Buffalo Bills in Week 4 depends on how their offense plays. They are standing at 2-0 because of their ability to score, with 34 points in each of their first two games and they likely will have to keep picking up their defense.
If the Bills deem Edmunds and Milano not ready to play, there will be a big advantage to be had for Darren Waller as the Bills have nobody to stop him. Also, the Bills are a far better pass defense than run defense and will have to really keen in on Josh Jacobs. If Jacobs and Waller can be game-changers again for the Raiders and their defense keeps the Bills under 24 points they can take this game.
Verdict: Bills Win
