Stock Up: Andre Roberts

One of the positions that don’t always get a lot of credit is kick returners but the play of Andre Roberts against his former team was a big reason for the Buffalo Bills’ success. The former Pro Bowl returner had five punt returns for an average of 13.8 yards with a long of 23 yards.

He finished the week fifth in the NFL in average yards per punt return among returners with at least two punt returns. There was only one other returner who had five punt returns, which was Steven Sims Jr. of the Washington Football Team but he finished with a return average of only 3.4 yards.

Field position is critical in any game and considering Andre Roberts was getting the Buffalo Bills nearly 14 yards every punt before the offense took the field is significant. Even if the Bills offense was unable to move the ball, which wasn’t the case, these yards helps a team win that field position battle.
