Buffalo Bills Running Backs

As mentioned previously, the Buffalo Bills running backs struggled to find much room on the ground to get anything going. Devin Singletary finished with nine rushing attempts for 30 yards and rookie Zack Moss carried it nine times as well but had only 11 yards.

Both running backs were factors in the passing game though as Singletary caught five of seven targets for 23 yards and Moss caught three of his four targets for 16 yards and had one touchdown.

The touchdown reception was rather impressive as Moss did a good job of moving with Allen as he was scrambling and he found an opening in the zone to sit down and give Allen a target to throw to.

It is hard to tell if the poor performance on the ground is the fault of the running backs, the Bills offensive line or because the Jets have a good defensive line. The receiving yards do help but it was a rather underwhelming performance from these two running backs.

Grade: D+

Buffalo Bills Wide Receivers

The Buffalo Bills wide receivers were everything they have been advertised and more. Stefon Diggs finished as the team’s leading receiver with eight receptions, 86 yards while John Brown had six receptions, 70 receiving yards, and one touchdown. Meanwhile, slot receiver Cole Beasley had four receptions for 58 yards.

It was also interesting to see rookie Gabriel Davis get some work early in the game as he had two receptions for 16 yards in the first half.

The presence of Stefon Diggs in this offense should not only make Josh Allen’s job easier but also give John Brown and Cole Beasley more room to work and make plays.
