Buffalo Bills: Predicting the team awards for the 2020 season

Offensive Player of the Year: WR Stefon Diggs

Honorable Mentions: QB Josh Allen (Exempt), WR John Brown, HB Devin Singletary

While Josh Allen wins MVP, for the practicality of this article the nod for OPOY would have to be the next best in line, Stefon Diggs. The Bills prize acquisition of the offseason, Diggs brings the offense a bonafide number one receiver, one they’ve been missing for quite a while.

Stepping into the organization after an abnormal offseason, Diggs has found ways to develop chemistry with starting quarterback Josh Allen in Florida for private workouts with many of the offensive players on the roster, throughout training camp as well.

A deep ball threat, Diggs averaged a healthy 17.9 yards/reception which ranked 4th in the whole NFL last season and that was on a steady volume of catches with 63. Adding a career-high 1,130 receiving yards to his resume in 2019 and nothing should hold him back when he steps onto the field in 2020.

While Josh Allen was one of the worst quarterbacks at passes travelling over 20+ yards in the air, Allen has lacked an elite deep threat during his time in Buffalo so they should be able to work off each other.

A season similar to his with the Vikings last season seems most likely and that would very likely lead all Bills receivers by a good margin.
