Buffalo Bills: 4 reasons they should win the AFC East in 2020
By Jason Mattis
These are four reasons the Buffalo Bills should win the AFC East this season.
The 2020 Buffalo Bills enter the season as AFC East favorites. Pundits and oddsmakers both agree that this could be the season where the New England Patriots stranglehold on the division ends.
It is a credit to what the Buffalo Bills have built in the three years since general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott walked in the building. Things outside of their control with their competitors have also lined up nicely in what should be a division-winning season.
With rosters set and the season a few days away, it’s time to reflect on four reasons the Bills are the favorites.
Buffalo Bills Strong Roster
In three years Beane has completely rebuilt this roster. Jerry Hughes is the only player on the roster that they inherited from the previous regimes. In turning over the roster the level of talent and depth have vastly been improved.
On offense, the Buffalo Bills can pick their weapon each week if they’d like. From Stefon Diggs and Cole Beasley to Devin Singletary the attacking options will leave defenses guessing. Throw in Dawson Knox and John Brown and this offense could be setting records Bills fans haven’t seen since the K-Gun days.
On defense, the line includes multiple players that can rotate between positions leaving the opposition guessing who and from where they are coming from. Matt Milano and Tremaine Edmunds can cover tight ends and running backs as well as any linebacking duo in the league. The secondary doesn’t give up many deep shots and keeps coverage tight led by Tre’Davious White.
The general manager has manipulated the roster at every turn leaving no stone unturned on making improvements. This current team was one of the hardest rosters to make and that is one of the best problems for decision-makers to have. With the pieces seemingly in place, the onus is on the players to perform on the field.
