Buffalo Bills win the AFC East

While the Buffalo Bills still know the division goes through New England, there is no doubt that their sights are set on a division title. If they were to win the AFC East it would be the first time since 1995 they were able to accomplish it.

General manager Brandon Beane recently talked about the idea that the goal this year is to win the AFC East and host a playoff game. While the Buffalo Bills have reached the playoffs twice in the last three years, both games were on the road.

For nearly two decades, the division has been owned by the New England Patriots but this year they on paper do not look like that Super Bowl contending team. They obviously lost Tom Brady but saw players like Kyle Van Noy, Jamie Collins, and Danny Shelton leave in free agency. The Patriots also saw a number of players opt-out like starting linebacker Dont’a Hightower.

The window doesn’t stay open long in the NFL and for the Buffalo Bills, this is their best chance to take that next step and secure a division title. The coaching staff and veteran leadership should keep this group focused and able to achieve that goal.
