Punter

The competition for the starting punter job drastically changed on Wednesday as the Buffalo Bills released Kaare Vedvik, who was signed earlier this year, and replaced him with free agent Lac Edwards.

It will now be Edwards who will try to take the starting job from Corey Bojorquez and he is an experience punter who has had success at the NFL level. Just this past season, Edwards led the NFL in punts and punt yards but he isn’t just a kicker that booms it deep, he does have accuracy which is something that Bojorquez has struggled with.

This past season, with 87 punts nearly 32% of his punts were downed inside the 20 yard line. As for Bojorquez, his percentage is close to 43% of punts down inside the 20 but he also had seven touchbacks last year while Edwards had only three on 13 more punts than Bojorquez.

Since there isn’t any preseason games for these punters it will be interesting what the coaching staff comes up with to evaluate each player.
