Andre Roberts

Special teams is often an afterthought and that includes returner Andre Roberts. It is kind of remarkable to think about the fact that he has made the Pro Bowl the past two years, once with the New York Jets and last season with the Buffalo Bills, but is often discussed as a possible cut candidate prior to the start of the season.

Even at 32 years of age, Roberts still has plenty left in the tank and should be a big piece of the team’s success in 2020. One of the things that is often forgotten is how much a returner can impact the success of the offense. As Vic Carucci at The Buffalo News notes, the Bills were first in the NFL with an average start position of 26.98-yard line and Roberts is a big reason for this.

He doesn’t contribute much on offense but in terms of a returner, it is hard to find one better in the NFL right now. These little things, like having the best average start position, can sometimes be the deciding factor between a win and a loss.
