These are projections for what the ceiling and the floor is for wide receiver Stefon Diggs in his first season with the Buffalo Bills.

One of the top priorities for the Buffalo Bills entering this offseason was to get a number one wide receiver that could take pressure off John Brown and Cole Beasley as well as give Josh Allen that go-to target. The general expectation was that this would come through the NFL Draft in a year that was extremely deep at the position.

However, general manager Brandon Beane went the trade route and swung a deal with the Minnesota Vikings for Stefon Diggs. The five-year veteran has been one of the better wide receivers, especially on the deep ball. Last year, he finished first in the league in receptions (16), receiving yards (635) and receiving touchdowns (6) on receptions over 20 yards, according to Pro Football Focus.

This is an area that Josh Allen struggled in last year and the Buffalo Bills hope that a wide receiver like Stefon Diggs can be a boost in this part of the passing attack.

Ceiling: The difference in Stefon Diggs season is likely going to come down to how often Josh Allen is able to connect with his wide receiver on these deep passes. There is no question that Diggs is going to see a high volume of targets in 2020. The Buffalo Bills wouldn’t have traded a first round pick, plus additional picks, to not treat Diggs like a number one wide receiver.

If Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs can connect on the deep ball, the former Vikings wide receiver should finish with his third straight season with over 1,000 receiving yards and probably 8-10 touchdowns.

Floor: If the two players are not able to connect, it is undoubtedly going to limit Stefon Diggs production in 2020. He is still an excellent route runner and will still be showcased but could have a season similar to 2016 when he finished with 82 receptions for 903 yards and three touchdowns, while having his second lowest career yards per reception at 10.8 yards.

Either way, the addition of Stefon Diggs is going to be a boost for this offense and if Josh Allen is able to connect on the deep passes with his new wide receiver it is really going to open up what this offense can do.
