Buffalo Bills: 53-man roster prediction before training camp
By Jason Mattis
Tight End
Second year player Dawson Knox seems poised to become the starter and a key contributor on offense. Tyler Kroft showed he could remain healthy once he returned to the active roster in 2019 and contributed enough to land on the 2020 roster. Beane won’t be giving up on 2019 seventh round draft pick Tommy Sweeney either.
It’s Lee Smith who is sweating the most due to the construction of this roster. Fans will remember three key fourth quarter penalties in games to New England, Tennessee, and Cleveland that hurt the Bills in key situations. Both Knox and Kroft are preferred in the passing game and Sweeney has shown enough to equalize his blocking.
Tight end position will be light in numbers and have a practice squad player for sure.
Predictions: Knox, Kroft, and Sweeney (3)
