With an unquestioned starter in Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills will have some decisions to make at the backup position.

The Buffalo Bills seemingly have their “franchise quarterback” with Josh Allen, who has shown steady improvement seemingly every week.

With no questions at the top of the depth chart, there is a battle for the backup quarterback job between the veteran Matt Barkley and fifth-round rookie Jake Fromm. Will the Bills want to part ways with their recent 2020 draft pick or stick with known veteran commodity?

Undoubtedly the backup position will be that and nothing more, whether the Buffalo Bills want to keep the chemistry between Barkley and Allen, and their ability to work in the quarterback room or groom Jake Fromm into a capable backup.

This is not to say Buffalo won’t take three quarterbacks on the roster, but due to the depth at other positions that would leave the team with some difficult decisions.

With the best roster that the Bills have had in a decade or more, the quarterback position will hold the keys to success. If they can get consistent play from Allen, they can make an AFC Championship game with the immense amount of talent on this roster. If Buffalo’s offense can play up to or near the ability of their defence, they should have a chance in any game they play.
