Buffalo Bills: Ranking the cornerbacks of the AFC East
By Rob Spehar
2) Buffalo Bills
Projected Starters: Tre’Davious White, Levi Wallace, Taron Johnson
After winning 10 games last season, the Buffalo Bills went out and added plenty of talent on the defensive side of the ball and made their already strong defense even better. And the anchor of that unit is cornerback Tre’Davious White.
A stalwart on the back end of the defense, he does not get the recognition he deserves. Maybe its the team he is on or the division he is in. But make no mistake about it, he is a force to be reckoned with. Last season he produced ridiculous numbers and in 15 games he had 54 tackles, 17 passes defended, six interceptions, two forced fumbles and one sack. He sat out the Buffalo Bills’ Week 17 matchup after a playoff spot had already been clinched.
Opposite Tre’Davious White is Levi Wallace. He had a pretty solid season suiting up for the Buffalo Bills in 16 games having recorded 67 tackles, nine passes defended, and two interceptions. Rounding out the secondary will be Taron Johnson at nickel and free agents E.J. Gaines and Josh Norman will add some great depth. Norman was one of the big names signed in the offseason, but he is far from what he once was when he was shining in Carolina.
The Buffalo Bills are higher than the Dolphins on this list because of what Tre’Davious White brings to the table as a whole and the depth at the position. The injury that Xavien Howard sustained last season also plays a factor because it raises questions as to how he will perform in 2020.
