Buffalo Bills: Why Devin Singletary can be even better in 2020

Coming off a very strong rookie season for the Buffalo Bills, Devin Singletary will come into his sophomore campaign with the starting job and should see plenty of touches early in the season.
After a great rookie season by Devin Singletary, with outstanding efficiency the second year running back for the Buffalo Bills will be seeing an increase in production, especially early in the season.
The coaching staff was very cautious with the rookie running back early last season, resulting in Singletary only carrying the ball ten times in his first two games, even though he looked much better than the starting Frank Gore. Despite the invaluable leadership that Gore provided to the young running back, it was clear the understudy had already passed the lead. Now with Gore not being there to take Singletary’s snaps, he will start the season with substantially more touches.
The 2019 third round pick won’t be the only back getting all the touches as the Bills spent another third round pick in 2020 on Zack Moss from Utah who will push Singletary for touches. While the sophomore will have more opportunities early on in 2020 due to Sean McDermott‘s patience with playing rookies, Singletary isn’t clearly the most talented back like last season.
With only one new face in the starting offense this season, Stefon Diggs, Singletary should carry the chemistry he had last season with Josh Allen and the offensive line, that should give him the chance to be even better after completing a great first season in the NFL.
