Bleacher Report named Levi Wallace as the one person with the Buffalo Bills that has the hottest hot seat entering this year.
Typically when hot seats are brought up for the Buffalo Bills it is not a surprise to hear a coaches name, the general manager or even the quarterback. However, the Bills surprisingly have great stability at these key roles and hopefully the team doesn’t lose Sean McDermott, Brandon Beane or Josh Allen anytime soon.
Considering those roles are not on the hot seat, Bleacher Report recently named cornerback Levi Wallace as the one player that has the hottest hot seat on the Buffalo Bills entering the 2020 season.
"The Buffalo Bills have a question mark at cornerback on the boundary.Levi Wallace underwent shoulder surgery during the offseason, and in March, the front office signed Josh Norman, who played four seasons under Bills head coach Sean McDermott with the Carolina Panthers. As the Panthers defensive coordinator, McDermott called plays for a unit that featured Norman at his peak as a 2015 All-Pro. Their familiarity bodes well for the 32-year-old cover man in a battle with Wallace for the starting role opposite Tre’Davious White."
Wallace joined the Bills as an undrafted free agent prior to the 2018 season and after Vontae Davis‘ surprise retirement early in the year, he worked his way into a starting role. He held on to that job for the 2019 season, starting all 16 games, but as the year went on he started losing snaps to Kevin Johnson.
In two seasons, Wallace has
It shouldn’t really be a surprise that Wallace is the player picked by Maurice Moton, considering the team did sign Josh Norman and E.J. Gaines this offseason to compete for the starting job. While Moton notes Norman as the key competition, it could actually be Gaines who earns the starting job this coming year.
The battle between Wallace, Norman and Gaines is going to probably be the most watched training camp battle considering the Bills are pretty well established at the other positions. This is going to be a make or break season for Levi Wallace as he will need to prove to the coaching staff that he can be the long term answer at the position opposite Tre’Davious White.
