Buffalo Bills: Ranking the offensive lines in the AFC East

4) Miami Dolphins
You look here, you look there, pretty much everywhere and you could see that the Miami Dolphins needed upgrades at every position that you can think of. This offseason in both free agency and the draft, the Dolphins seemed to have addressed key needs.
The Dolphins were near, if not, at the bottom of the entire league in most statistical categories in 2019. Two stats that stuck out like sore thumbs were sacks, giving up a staggering 58 and total offensive rushing yards which was 1,156. That last one was probably the most embarrassing because Ryan Fitzpatrick was their leading rusher. Wow! But progress was made in the offseason.
Before the draft even happened, the Dolphins were already busy making moves by signing unrestricted free agents. They added offensive lineman Ereck Flowers from the Washington Redskins and pried center Ted Karras away from their division rival New England Patriots. Then in this year’s NFL Draft, the Dolphins had a slew of picks and selected 3 offensive linemen. They started with tackle Austin Jackson out of USC with their second pick in the first round. Guard Robert Hunt out of Louisiana in the second round and then in the 4th round they traded up 25 spots to select guard Solomon Kindley out of Georgia.
It’s clear that the Dolphins have a plan in place to protect new quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and establish a strong running game with the other new acquisitions of Jordan Howard and Matt Breida. Huge strides were made in the offseason and head coach Brian Flores should be feeling pretty good with the big guys up front heading into 2020.
