Buffalo Bills: Way too early 2021 NFL three round mock draft
By Daniel Bruce
Round 3, 87th Overall: Deonte Brown (OG), Alabama
The behemoth guard from Alabama, Brown stands at 6’4″ and a whopping 338 pounds, he’s an imposing presence on the interior.
Brown played very well against 2020 Top 10 selection Derrick Brown and held him without a sack. The Alabama guard showed great strength at the point of attack and was almost impossible to beat with a bull rush.
Browns exceptional play strength should make him a force in the run game for the Buffalo Bills, and an upgrade in that area over starter Quinton Spain. On many pass snaps versus the Auburn star defensive tackle, the steady guard held his own. There are worries about the Alabama guards foot speed but Buffalo hasn’t been deterred from slower offensive lineman, they love maulers like Brown.
At 338 pounds Brown fits the prototype the Bills like at the guard position, I expect the guard from Alabama to move up some draft boards and has a chance of not being available for Buffalo at 87. If the chance presents itself Buffalo has to consider this selection.
Considered by many to be underrated coming into the 2020 NCAA season, many expect the talented guard to excel after missing 6 games last season due to “NCAA violations”.
The big guard could be an ideal “people mover” for the Buffalo Bills offense.
