Buffalo Bills: ESPN re-drafts the NFL, Bills go WR, QB with first two picks
ESPN recently put together a re-draft of the entire NFL and the Buffalo Bills went wide receiver, quarterback with their first two picks.
In an interesting exercise, ESPN went through a re-draft of the entire NFL if all players were available. Each team, managed by a different reporter, had the chance to draft four players. The Buffalo Bills, with the 22nd pick, selected New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas.
In a quarterback dominated league, it is interesting to see the Bills go wide receiver first but Marcel Louis-Jacques, who covers the Bills for ESPN, notes that a majority of the top quarterbacks were already off the board. The selection of Thomas certainly makes sense because he is one of the top wide receivers in the league.
However, the second round the Bills get their quarterback going with the player who is already their franchise quarterback, Josh Allen. Amazingly, Allen was the 22nd quarterback taken and went after players like Drew Lock, Teddy Bridgewater and even Cam Newton, who currently is a free agent and not on an NFL team.
Josh Allen was also the highest draft player currently on the Buffalo Bills.
After two offensive players, the Bills went defense in the final two picks by selecting outside linebacker Matthew Judon in the third and then draft the Bills current starting safety Micah Hyde.
Unfortunately for Louis-Jacques, the four selections he made didn’t receive high marks as Mike Clay ranked this group in Tier 4, which is the lowest tier.
"Mike Clay’s draft grade: Tier 4. Thomas may be the most valuable non-QB in the league. But can Allen get him the ball? And Nos. 86 and 107 feel a little early for Judon and Hyde, respectively."

It is interesting that the Louis-Jacques took two players who are already on the Bills in Allen and Hyde. However, he was one of five writers who took at least two players that are currently on their respective teams joining the Denver Broncos (Drew Lock and Courtland Sutton), Arizona Cardinals (Chandler Jones and Patrick Peterson), Las Vegas Raiders (Josh Jacobs and Henry Ruggs) and the Indianapolis Colts (Quinton Nelson and Darius Leonard).
