Find out what Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll had to say about the rookies.

In a recent virtual press conference, Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll was asked about the three offensive rookies the team selected in the NFL Draft. The Bills added two big wide receivers in Gabriel Davis and Isaiah Hodgins in the fourth and sixth round and got Devin Singletary a running mate with Zack Moss out of Utah in the third round.

While Daboll didn’t want to get into what the roles of these three players might be, he was quick to talk about how the physicality all three bring to this offense.

He was initially asked about Davis and Hodgins at the 21:20 mark of the video and he said he liked the type of men they are as well as the type of players they are. He mentioned they are tough, physical guys that have good ball skills and are not afraid. He also notes the size they bring to the position.

The Buffalo Bills did add Stefon Diggs to the wide receiver room but were still lacking size. However, with Davis and Hodgins on the team that is no longer an issue with Davis at 6’2″ and Hodgins at 6’3″.

Later in the press conference, at the 39:00 mark, Daboll was asked about Zack Moss and how he can compliment Devin Singletary. While he didn’t directly answer how the two will compliment one another, he once again brought up the toughness of the player.

Daboll noted that Moss is a tough, hard-nosed, downhill runner but that he also has the quickness to make guys miss. He said “We really liked the toughness he ran with.”

The former Utah running back is unique in that he does have that tough running style, that he has a mindset that he wants to force defensive players “to make business decisions” when going to tackle him.

However, this doesn’t mean that he looks for contact either. According to Pro Football Focus, Moss had the most missed tackles by a running back in college since 2014.

The additions of Gabriel Davis, Isaiah Hodgins and Zack Moss are going to be a big boost to this offense. It gives Brian Daboll additional weapons to help maximize this group and hopefully move them out of the bottom half of the league in total yards.
